A New Year Means…

…new decorations for my dorm room! My suite has put off officially decorating our common area for about a semester now. We originally wanted the theme to be “Havana”. We had a solid plan to go out and buy fake plants and wicker chairs and a painting of the ocean, but that never came to fruition. Instead, we collected random posters and trinkets, hung them up over the course of the semester, and inadvertently turned our room into a tribute to…cats?

At least we have a few other cool objects to redeem us, like a Dr. Seuss clock, a mini Christmas tree that’s still standing strong, some funny postcards on our doors, some zines for our coffee table, and a handy magnetic board that lets us keep track of each other and where we’re located around campus.

These are just a few ideas for what you can do with your dorm rooms to turn them into fun and liveable spaces–or, at the very least, to have something your friends can laugh at when they visit you.
